Due to Covid-19 I have suspended in person sessions indefinitely. I am providing Telehealth services via zoom, or FaceTime upon request. Most insurance Companies are now authorizing these services with the same coverage as offered for office visits. I recommend checking with your insurance carrier to confirm coverage. Please note, my office will be closed in August. I plan to be accept new Telehealth patients in September. Feel free to leave a message on my office if you would like to be put on a waiting list for September. Stay safe!
My approach to therapy is a collaborative one, informed by my clinical social work education, 28 years of postgraduate experience, and ongoing training and self education. I work most successfully with individuals who come to therapy with openness to greater self understanding, motivation, and a situation/problem/conflict to resolve. Therapy can be short or long term as needed. Significant others may be included as part of treatment. Together we will explore the source of concern, strategies for resolution, and design a treatment plan. I am a provider for many insurance plans to help make therapy affordable and accessible.
Specialties include couples therapy, family therapy, co-parenting, perinatal and postpartum adjustment, play therapy, sexual abuse treatment, recovery support, and individual adult treatment for depression and anxiety.
For those interested in my orientation, my work is based theories of practice derived from ego psychology, systems theory, EMDR, AEDP, developmental theory, attachment theory, nonviolent communication, parenting for social intelligence, and a neurobiological based understanding of emotional self regulation and brain functioning.
